In the footsteps of Magritte
Ben Goossens was born in Liezele, Belgium in 1945 and attended the St Lucas Art School in Brussels where he studied Illustration and Photography. He worked for 35 years as an advertising agency art director before he started creating photo-montages in a distinctive Surrealist style reminiscent of his illustrious fellow countryman, René Magritte.
Goossens' images have received numerous awards in many prestigious international photography competitions including Gold and Silver medals at the Trierenberg Super Circuit, the world's largest annual photography salon. He has also seen his work published globally, notably an in-depth article in the March 2007 edition of Phot'Art International.
His compositions are characterized by their flawless and painterly renderings of Surrealist 'dreamscapes'.
